Jimmie R. Duncan, Jr.

Jimmie R. Duncan, Jr. became the Executive Director of the Federation of Fire Chaplains on March 1, 2020. He has been a member of the Fire Service since 1987, joining the Irving (Texas) Fire Department on June 15 of that year. He subsequently retired in 2019 after 32 years of service.

He holds a Master Firefighter Certification from the State of Texas, was a licensed paramedic (1991–2020), and also holds certificates in High Angle Rescue I and II, Confined Space Rescue, and Trench Rescue. He is a certified Instructor.

Jimmie also holds numerous certificates from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, including a Certificate of Specialized Training in Pastoral Crisis Intervention. He served as the Chaplain and Critical Incident Stress Management Coordinator for his department for 20 years.

Jimmie is one of the founding members and President of the Texas Corps of Fire Chaplains and is a member of the Texas Line of Duty Task Force. He holds a BA degree in Religion from Gardner-Webb College (now University).

Jimmie currently resides in Irving, Texas with his wife, Cindy.

Edward Murphy Stauffer

Ed Stauffer is the Founder and Executive Director Emeritus of the Federation of Fire Chaplains. He was a speaker on Critical Incident Stress and family life for 42 years to firefighters and their families. He served as Chaplain of the IAFF and Chaplain for the Fort Worth Fire Department for 38 years.

Ed was the founder of the FFC Institute and taught many subjects to the emergency services. He was an Instructor at the Texas A&M Fire School for 28 years and was a speaker to fire departments throughout the United States and Canada.

Ed passed away in his home the morning of June 25, 2022. All in the Fire Service have been touched by his life and his passing.
