This is a two-day course designed as a “Survey of Fire Chaplaincy”. It is appropriate for new chaplains, experienced chaplains, and those who just want to learn what fire chaplaincy is all about. The course includes: Foundations of Fire Chaplaincy-Personhood of the Chaplain-Beginning a Fire Chaplaincy Program-Ministry to Firefighters-Ministry to Individuals in Crisis-Chaplain Conduct-Stress Management-Firefighter Injury and Death. others.
COST
The Essentials of Fire Chaplaincy Course costs $250 This includes two days of instruction and discussion, Chaplain Manual from the Federation of Fire Chaplains
CLASS SCHEDULE
Our class will meet on Friday and Saturday, May 23 - 24, from 8:00 a.m. sharp to 5:00 p.m. You must be present for the entire 16 hours of instruction to receive Basic Fire Chaplain Certification.
YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Gary White is currently serving as the Region Two Chaplain for the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association and as the Chaplain for the New Market District Volunteer Fire Rescue Department. He received his BS from Liberty University in Religion, an Advance Diploma in Biblical Counseling from Light University and holds his Advanced Fire Chaplain Certificate with the Federation of Fire Chaplains. He is currently a Board Certified Biblical Counselor with the International Board of Christian Counselors and a Board Certified Response Chaplain by the Board of Christian Crisis and Trauma Response.
Jim Jones has been a fire and rescue chaplain serving Sterling Volunteer Fire Company since 2019, With a strong background in communications and Pastoral Counseling, he is committed to providing emotional and spiritual support to those who serve in the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue system.
In addition to his work as a chaplain, Jim has served as training office and Chairman of the Loudoun County Chaplains committee. He is currently serving as the Chairman Emeritus of the committee.
Recently, Jim relocated to Katy, Texas where he is volunteering as a Chaplain with Harris County Emergency Service District 48.
When not serving as a chaplain, Jim enjoys reading, outdoors, spending time with friends, and his wife Lisa, which helps to maintain a balanced and fulfilling life.
