Fire/Rescue Peer Support Training
January 10-13, 2022
Location
St. John's Episcopal Church
113 Madison Avenue
Montgomery Alabama
Peer Support is NOT therapy; rather, it is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention, which requires specialized training. Crisis management is an intense process designed to lessen the emotional stress created during crisis response. As a Peer Support Responder, we can help resolve short-time issues until professional assistance is available.
Most Fire/Rescue personnel are highly dedicated and pride themselves on doing a "perfect job," under unusually high expectations, which can cause frustration when they feel as though they failed during an incident.
This course is designed for anyone who desires to increase their knowledge of individual (Peer to Peer) crisis intervention techniques in the fields of Public Safety, Education, Emergency Services, Employee Assistance, Healthcare, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, and Traumatic Stress.
