At the generous invitation of the Alabama Fire College, the Federation of Fire Chaplains, will present the following courses on the Alabama Fire College campus in Tuscaloosa Alabama.
Essentials of Emergency Service Chaplaincy
June 12-13, 2018 (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
This course provides the foundation for Fire/Rescue/EMS Chaplain service and teaches an established and credentialed system of protocols in order to provide Chaplaincy to emergency services workers and the public. Participants must be members of the FFC to get course credit. Course will be taught by a combined faculty of the Tennessee Federation of Fire Chaplains.
Fee includes the FFC Chaplain Manual.
Chaplains who are not members of the FFC and bring the following completed documents to class will be provided with 2018 membership in the Federation of Fire Chaplains as a gift from the Tennessee Federation of Fire Chaplains.
- Completed FFC Membership Application (can be obtained by going to www.firechaplains.org then completing and printing the form)
- Signed letter of appointment on Department letterhead
- Signed letter of Ecclesiastical endorsement on letterhead of the endorsing faith group.
- Copy of Ordination Certificate OR signed letter from clergy person willing to serve as your pastoral care supervisor.
CISM: Group and Individual Crisis Intervention
June 14-16, 2018 (All 3 Days, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM)
This is an International Critical Incident Stress Foundation double course and will cover "Group Crisis Intervention" and "Assisting Individuals in Crisis". This program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and the specific protocols for, group and individual crisis interventions. Participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to provide several group crisis interventions, specifically demobilizations, defusings, and debriefings. The need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals when necessary will also be discussed. This level 100 course will be taught by Chaplain Paul Trumpore.
