ICISF Pastoral Intervention I & II Course
This three day course combines ALL of the content of ICISF,s Pastoral Crisis Intervention and Pastoral Crisis Intervention II courses.
Pastoral Crisis Intervention may be thought of as the combination of faith-based resources with traditional techniques of crisis intervention. Pastoral Crisis Intervention represents a powerful addition to traditional community and organizational psychological support resources. The purpose of this course is to assist the participants in learning how pastoral interventions and traditional psychological crisis interventions may be effectively integrated. Chaplains, Pastoral Counselors, Mental Health Professionals, ministers, and anyone interested in the use of faith-based resources in healing should find this course of interest. This course consists of 26 hours of instruction, over the course of three days, covering the following areas:

Glenn C. Calkins, M.Div., LCSW, BCC, DAPA is a United Methodist Minister. He was a firefighter for 26 years and an Emergency Medical Technician for 15 years. He has served as a Fire Chaplain for 22 years. Glen was selected to receive an award for Distinguished Achievement from the International Association of Firefighters in 1989. He continues to be a member and instructor for the Federation of Fire Chaplains Other credentials or certifications include Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education, Board Certified Chaplain, and a Diplomat of the American Psychotherapy Association. Glenn was the founding Executive Director of CISM Indiana Network, Inc. that grew to 28 statewide teams. In 1995, the Indiana Psychological Association chose Glenn the Allied Professional of the Year. He is an ICISF Faculty member and one of the authors for the “Pastoral Crisis Intervention” courses. Currently, he is active as a member of the American Red Cross Critical Response Team. With the American Red Cross he has been activated for two air incident responses and the World Trade Center in New York City. He is also a Life Member of the Mont Alto Fire Co. #1 in Mont Alto, PA.Email
